We are excited to offer this space as a point of contact for those interested in exploring the rich history of the Muro and Serrapede families. Our mission has always been to preserve and share our family legacy with integrity and care. However, recent experiences have necessitated some significant changes to how we share our work.
As of 2025, our original family history blog, containing posts dating back to 2014, is now private and accessible only to trusted family members and friends. This step became necessary due to repeated instances of misuse, including the misappropriation of photos and documents, the stripping of watermarks, and the misrepresentation of sources from photos placed on FindAGrave . Such actions not only compromise the accuracy of shared genealogical information but also impact the reputation and integrity of our family’s collective work.
Additionally, concerns regarding the misuse of our images and documents, especially through AI-assisted alterations, have led us to reconsider our approach. To further safeguard our materials, we have taken down all FindAGrave memorials under our management. While this decision was not made lightly, it reflects our commitment to protecting our family’s history from further exploitation.
In light of these changes, we’ve created a public family tree on Ancestry. This tree includes key relationships and scans of vital records with official seals from issuing offices. The vital records are located in the Public Tree’s Gallery. The filename convention used is: FamilyName-Document Type.pdf
These resources are provided to assist serious researchers by offering verifiable information for comparison purposes. We encourage researchers to trace photos or details in question back to their original source, especially if they are posted outside of Ancestry’s system.
Please note: Any questions about inaccuracies or corrections must be directed to the individual who uploaded the material to Ancestry, as ownership and editing rights reside with the original uploader. We are unable to address concerns regarding materials that do not bear Ancestry’s link and mark indicating they originated from our tree.
If you wish to learn the name of our new public family tree on Ancestry, feel free to reach out to us via the Contact Form on this blog. We’ll be happy to assist you in locating the right tree to continue your research.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. We remain committed to supporting those who share our passion for preserving and researching family history. If you have questions about our family’s history or the private tree, please don’t hesitate to contact us through this blog.
